DEVELOP YOUR FITNESS CAREER WITH THE AFB AND THE LONDON KETTLEBELL ACADEMY (LKB)
As personal trainers ourselves, we know that the key to getting your clients fitter and healthier is having the best tools and skills for the job. And the best thing about helping your clients achieve their goals is that they'll be walking adverts for your services and skills, and that will get you more clients!

A win win situation for everyone.

Now the next question is where are you going to gain those skills and techniques?
LKB Academy Kettlebell Courses are now held in Australia!!
Kettlebells are an ideal tool for the personal trainer as they are easy to transport, compact and, most importantly, deliver unbeatable fitness gains to your clients.

If you are looking to incorporate kettlebells into your skills portfolio, we have the courses for you. We run one day kettlebell intensive workshops for clients with experience in kettlebell training. This workshop is also suitable for small groups looking to learn the skills in a corporate environment, such as a group of instructors within one gym.

All courses are recognised by REPS, are mapped to the National Occupational Standards and carry CPDs in the UK.
Three reasons to use Kettlebells!
Can Kettlebells help people with back problems?

A lot of people are terrified at the idea of getting down into a squat position because they've been told by a GP to avoid it. So first we teach them to do the motion correctly, with no weight, and then we teach them to squat down and pick up the kettlebell.

Confidence and competence is then gained as they are actually doing some resistance-type exercises. This utilises the pelvis and lower back correctly, so they can gain strength in their spines. Well known spine biomechanist and physiotherapist Dr Stuart McGill has referenced the use of Kettlebells (Swing) in many of his rehabilitative studies for back pain, endurance, and function.

Can using kettlebells reduce the incidence of soft tissue injuries?

YES! There are couple reasons why the kettlebell is so good. One, the dynamic nature of the exercises help with shock absorption, which is good for people who are out there pounding the hard pavements during a long run. Second is movement pattern performance. It takes multiples of “correct” repetitions to undo a faulty pattern. Kettlebell exercises give a rhythmic pattern to follow to create a lasting functional strength and conditioning program without bad habits!

Kettlebells versus traditional machines or other weight systems?

Kettlebells are used in a very different manner to fixed resistance machines. Fixed resistance machines will “fixate” a joint or multiple joints. Training this way can actually de condition the stabilisation ability of the body by not allowing the nervous system function as it should. Kettlebells allow the greatest freedom of movement linked directly to optimal primal human movement. No fixed machine (regardless how expensive it is!) can duplicate human movement in its natural dynamic form.
